McClenny Insurancy Agency has been family-owned and operated for over 70 years. We offer insurance products to individuals, families, and local businesses throughout RVA. 

 The McClenny Insurance Agency, Inc was founded in 1943 by E.G. McClenny.  E.G. served as the first agency manager with Nationwide in Richmond, VA while simultaneously building houses. This combined experience gave him the secret to building successful businesses. E.G.'s position with Nationwide helped him to form a captive relationship with the Insurance giant. 

  E.G. passed the knowledge that he had gained as well as the agency on to his son, Robert McClenny, who continued to successfully run the agency for the next 30+ years. In 2002, Robert brought in his son Jason to help run the agency and father and son continued to work together until April of 2018. The industry was changing and being a captive agent for one company was not as rewarding as it once was. Jason saw a need to be able to offer clients more choices in pricing and coverage, and these options could only be attained by an independent agency. 

 On May 1, 2018 McClenny Insurance Agency received its independence from Nationwide, and the agency was successfully acquired by Jason McClenny as the principle agent.  Nationwide is just one of the many companies that the McClenny agency represents. McClenny Insurance Agency now has the opportunity to offer clients a greater variety of products and services that will meet their individual needs.
